Hello AWMEC Members
After discussions with the RSL re current restrictions, combined with the high level of Covid cases currently prevalent in the area, the Committee has decided to cancel our October meeting which was scheduled for next Tuesday, October 26th. Although it may have been possible to have 50 people outside at the RSL, there are some questions about density quotas. Also it is currently a requirement in both Victoria & NSW for anyone attending venues to show proof of double vaccination (or an exemption) & we expect that a number of members may not have received their second jab yet. Double vaccination requirement is expected to stop in NSW in December but may be ongoing in Victoria so is likely to apply to future meetings if at the RSL.
The RSL expects that there capacity limits (inside & out) should increase by our November meeting which is scheduled for Tuesday November 23rd and we are expecting that we will hold that meeting. A reminder that your annual membership fee renewal ($35) is due by the end of December & the November meeting may be the last opportunity to pay in person as we normally don’t have a December meeting, having a Club Christmas lunch instead. Details of this are yet to be determined and will be circulated prior to December (proposed date at this stage is December 12th TBC). Fee renewals can be paid by EFT, cheques or at a meeting & Membership Officer Glenn will email out reminders with payment options in the near future.
For members requiring Vic Club Permit renewals to be signed (given the lack of meetings) you can contact any of the signatories, Doug (Vic Roads Permits Officer), David (Treasurer), Sam (Secretary) or myself & make a time to get signatures; as per contact details on Office Bearers sheet attached.
A reminder that despite the difficulties holding meetings, our ride calendar is back on as scheduled with next ride on 31/10 (Myrtleford); the Mid week coffee ride 10/11 & Jindabyne weekend ride 13 & 14/11.
Hope to see you on the road or at our November meeting.
Cheers,
Phil Stuckey
President
