We set out at 9 a.m. on a bleak day, with 11 members and 1 passenger, heading up the Kiewa Valley Highway, passing through Dederang, then turning up the Rosewhite road, passing over the Kancoona gap. With the ultimate riding weather, cool and overcast, it was turning into a great ride. We stopped at the ever-popular Myrtleford bakery for some morning tea before heading off via Stanley and Beechworth.
