Brothers and Sisters of AWMEC,
As your President, I want to take a moment to say something straight from the heart: I am incredibly proud of this club and every single one of you.
The Albury Wodonga Motorcycle Enthusiasts Club isn’t just about the bikes we ride, the roads we conquer, or the events we organise throughout the year. It’s about the unbreakable bond we share—the genuine camaraderie that turns a group of motorcycle enthusiasts into a true family.
We see it every time we hit the road together. We look out for one another, not because we have to, but because that’s who we are. It’s in the small acts of kindness that happen naturally on a ride, the ones that remind us why we love being part of AWMEC.
Take what happened on our Sunday ride just this past weekend.
Max Bird was cruising along, Peter Leddin riding faithfully behind him. When Max lost the rubber stopper from his foot pedal, Peter didn’t hesitate—he pulled over, picked it up, and made sure Max got it back. Max was stoked, grateful for a mate who had his back.
But the road has a way of giving back.
A little further down, Peter’s high-vis vest slipped out of his bag and hit the deck. Without missing a beat, Max spotted it, pulled over, retrieved it, and returned it to Peter with a grin. Two mates, two quick stops, two simple gestures that say everything about the spirit of this club.
That moment wasn’t just luck or coincidence—it was AWMEC in action. It’s the same spirit that shows up at our Wednesday Coffee Runs, our Sunday Outings, our club meetings at the Comm Club and any organised event we share. We ride together, we help each other with restorations and preservation, we celebrate our classic and modern machines side by side, and most importantly, we build friendships that last.
This is what sets us apart: a strong community of like-minded enthusiasts who genuinely care. We make new friends, offer support, and watch each other’s backs—on the road and off it.
So let’s keep that fire burning bright. Keep showing up, keep looking out for one another, keep making those small acts that mean the world. Because when we do, we don’t just ride—we build something bigger than any single bike or ride.
I’m proud to ride with you all. Proud to call you mates. Proud to lead this club.
