2023-04-02 to 9 Bathurst Easter Rally VMCC

Ride report from Roger McGregor

Now in its 49th year, the “Easter Bathurst Tour” was convened on behalf of the VMCC by Don Liddle OAM for 40 years. The Tour runs for a week over different daily routes in the scenic Bathurst area. We encourage the riding of the oldest bikes. Most days are suitable for Veteran machines. To enter, your bike must be at least 30 years old.
Runs are between 100‐120km per day.

I attended an 8-day rally at Bathurst this Easter, the 48th rally hosted by Vintage Motorcycle Club NSW.
It is based at Panorama Caravan Park and entry is $75.
There were approx 150 entrants with some riders bringing 2 or 3 bikes.
One rider was in his 90s riding a 50’s Harley outfit and has attended all 48 rallies.
Each day was planned for a ride to a small town with a morning tea provided someday. We visited places such as Trunkey ck, Hill End, Oberon, Sofala, Perth, Carcoar, with a lap of Mt Panorama included on day 1.
This is definitely a rally I will be attending again. We’ll run and value for money.
The $75 entry fee gave us backup, a Rally badge, 2-morning teas, 1 lunch, final day BBQ, and no Trophies.

Bring on the next one.

Roger McGregor
